The NetBeans 6.8 plugin manager lists Maven plugin version 4.4.1, which will not install in 6.8. The installer reports a requested Utilities API version >= 8.0 and a found version of 7.31.1.1 -- obviously this plugin version is meant for 6.9. The previous version, if available, should be listed for 6.8. This sort of thing has happened before with other versions and plugins. Maybe it is time to add a program to run on plugin submission to check the requested API versions against those available in the distributions, returning the minimum distribution version needed?
I am sorry but it works fine for me. I uninstalled Maven and then installed it successfully - see attached screenshot. What is your NetBeans IDE 6.8 build number and can you send us similar screenshot? Thanks!
Created attachment 99975 [details] Screenshot of installable Maven plugin 4.4.1. in NetBeans IDE 6.8.
Created attachment 100031 [details] Screenshot of installer rejection message As for the NetBeans version, the Ubuntu package manager lists it as the latest: 6.8-0ubuntu5 The actual program reports: NetBeans IDE 6.8 (Build 100326-unknown-revn) As you can see, this installer doesn't like the version it sees.
Michael, can you please confirm that NetBeans IDE 6.8 available in the latest Ubuntu distribution (probably 10.04) has problems with updating Maven plugin? Thanks!
I'm not sure we have such Linux available right now. Will find.
Please check in NB 7.x and reopen once still available - thanks in advance.
