The following message appeared during installation:


"The following install step failed:  run postflight script for NetBeans 6.9.1.  Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
The platform is a Dual 1.73 GHz PowerPC G4 (MPC-7448) upgraded Quicksilver running MacOS 10.5.8.

Unfortunately Power PC is not supported anymore and now installer has some check to prevent running on PowerPC hardware. You can install NetBeans form zip distribution.
