Description lvskiprof 2011-07-15 17:38:45 UTC
When I installed this version of Netbeans 7.0 I did not see the need for installing the web servers, but now I do need to. To I went to Tools --> Servers
and clicked on the "Add Server..." button.

When I choose GlashFish Server 3.x, and choose 3.1 the next step shows the installation location as: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\GlassFish_Server

When I check the box says I accept the agreement the Download Now... button gets enabled. But when I click it you get a message below it that says "Download & Install completed in 187 ms." At the bottom it have a warning message the the directory does not exist.

Looking in that directory I see that it failed to create it. If I create it manually and try again it renames GlassFish_Server to GlassFish_Server1 and gives me the same error.

This makes it impossible to install GlassFish using the Netbeans IDE.

I know I can download it separately, but I am not sure if it will tie in with Netbeans as well if I do so.

I am on Win 7 and was just able to download the server... need more info (like the log) to try to reproduce.

Closing as worksforme.

Reopen with additional info if you are still unable to download the server.

I went into the log and there was a lot of stuff in there, so I decided to make a new attempt so it would be right at the end. This time I noticed a warning about needing to install something in the plugins list that requires a server and it would not even let me try to install Glassfish. I definitely did not get this last time, since I was able to get further.

I added the various plugins for Java Web and EE that I had not installed yet. It now let me install Glassfish and that ran without a problem.

My other bug for Apache 7.0 (200174) is still failing in the same way I listed there though. So it must be due to a different cause.

Go ahead and close this issue, I guess.
