Description ceklock 2011-10-04 19:56:13 UTC
Currently the language of the IDE is automatically set to the native language of the operating system of the user.

Many users like me prefer to change the language to English.

Please provide a way to choose the user language in the IDE interface, so the user does not need to go to "etc/netbeans.conf" to do this.

This would also be a useful feature for platform applications, not just for the IDE itself. I know that it possible to implement it in an application, but it would be a useful feature to have out of the box.

Another vote to solve this bug, it's nagging to manually edit "netbeans.conf".

It should be very simple to implement, the only thing, what is needed is to provide ability in GUI to pick up preffered language in prefferences, what will lead to modify "netbeans.conf" programatically and then restart IDE, no language switching on-the-fly is needed.

Change of language of IDE is in some cases close to necesity because some localization strings absolutely do not respond to their original meanings in English and also almost all tutorials and guides are made on IDE in English.

I want my NetBeans in English, why I am forced to use it in my native language? Why I am forced to change netbeans.conf? I would like to never have to change netbeans.conf again.
