Currently the diff module runs diff on two files that are selected in the Explorer. It would be useful if it was possible to run a diff where one file is the currently selected editor buffer and the second file is selected in the explorer, or perhaps a different editor buffer (not sure if Netbeans allows selection of an "inactive" buffer tab). Thanks, Peter
I'm not sure how the selection of inactive editor buffer would be done. On nbusers was suggested recently to also provide a diff between the buffered modified version of the source file and the source on disk. This is also quite nice functionality. I'm just mentioning it here, since it's connected.
Set target milestone to TBD
Changing to a feature, so that it shows in plans.
Would be nice to have. Scheduling for future.

There is a new "Diff To..." action available on a single file selection and also on editor tabs. In the file selector you can then choose a second file from file system or another editor tab to diff to. 8549be1c1cf6
