i recently did a system restore to a date before i installed netbeans, it took netbeans off but when i tried to reinstall it came with this.

is there an uninstaller that you may have. it's not in the list of installed programs nor is there any trace of netbeans other than projects which contain netbeans in it.

I suppose the windows registries were restored - that's why you cannot find it in installed programs. Look into <user home>/.nbi/registry.xml and there you will find info about installed NB. Maybe you will find NetBeans in Program files (I don't know how the restore works). So then you can use this instance or delete .nbi folder and then reinstall NetBeans.

it worked! thank you! now i can get off that rubbish eclipse and carry on with netbeans.
