When I work on a project, I always have a set of tabs for language files, and another set for executable code. The problem is that when a project is closed and later reopened, all tabs are restored in a single group. I then have to manually drag the language files one by one in a new group to separate them from the code. I suspect that this is a flaw that has appeared with a recent upgrade, but I can't be sure. I don't think that I would have waited years before signaling this problem. Perhaps there's another way of creating tab groups that I'm not aware of?? Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.2 (Build 201207171143) Operating System = Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64 Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_05 Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 23.1-b03
Using the 7.4 beta now and enjoying it very much. I'm just sorry to see no progress on the current issue (reported in version 7.2). When I reopen a project, I still have to recreate the two tab groups that I always have (message files to left; code to right). And I have to separate between the tab groups the files that have been reopened, but mixed together in a single group. I'm sure I'm not the only one to be thus annoyed each time he reopens a project. This little improvement would be much appreciated.
I have been having this issue as well. I have several projects that I switch between and it would be nice to not have to re layout my document groups each time I switch (sometimes several times a day) Please fix this soon. It looks like this has been an issue for a long time.
In a competitor's IDE, they use a function called "Save list of open documents" that would be very useful as a replacement / enhancement for this issue. I also notice that even if a document group is selected, when changing back to the appropriate branch, the documents do not get reopened.
