Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.2.1 (Build 201210100934)
Operating System = Mac OS X version 10.7.5 running on x86_64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_13
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 23.7-b01

The Menu Item "Update Center" is not visible nor avaialable from the Tools menu as described ftom "Downloading and Installing the Software", step 1.
This was found to be the case installing NetBeans IDE for Win XP SP3 (this menu item is not show nor function).
I had wished to add UML Modeling to my NetBeans IDE.

please use main menu Tools | Plugins instead

BTW: we will need to update documentation, I guess

The document referenced by the reporter is for NetBeans IDE 5.5 and does not apply to the IDE version used by the reporter (7.2.1).

UML was removed from the standard distribution in NetBeans IDE and maintenance of the plugin was taken up by the community. Some users have reported success with using the UML plugin in NetBeans IDE 6.8 and 6.9.
