Before, in Find Issues, there was a way of looking for it by number.

Product Version = NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 20130408-f130a8702c06)
Operating System = Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_07
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 23.3-b01

the task dashboard was recently introduced - see main menu > windows > task dashboard

there is an action in the toolbar for each repository to look after an issue by id or summary substring, which is suposed to replace the field in the query dialog

giving it a second thought, maybe the field could/should stay in the dialog for an ad-hoc query
