Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.4 RC1 (Build 201309162201)
Operating System = Mac OS X version 10.8.5 running on x86_64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.8.0-ea
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.0-b44

This bug makes this software unusable. 

When in the editor, I am able to copy or cut, but then when I try to paste, nothing happens. If I go to another text editor in separate software, I can paste what I've copy/cut and then copy/cut from there and paste back into the Netbeans Editor.

"me too" - this copy/paste bug makes the 7.4 branch unusable.

Me:
OSX 10.8.5
Retina display
Java build 1.8.0-ea-b108
Netbeans 7.4 RC2

I get the same thing: Copy some code, try to paste it - nothing happens.
Paste the code into a text-only editor, copy it again, THEN I can paste in Netbeans.

NetBeans 7.4 is not supposed to be run on JDK8, please use JDK7 instead ... btw: the bug is in the JDK, see issue 230061
