To reproduce: - Hightlight execubtable file -> Alt + F5 Cannot start a debugging by keyboard shortcuts *OS:Solaris 5.9 *Orion Build:orion_ml_020604 fcc Build:20.4 *JDK:JDK1.4.0 *locale:C
can not reproduce on win2000 where you highlite the file (editor, explorer)? explorer case: do you have selected node representing executable file? like sample dir/examples/texteditor/Ted? is "Run in Debugger" action enabled in toolbar? Thanks for report, Hanz
I tested FFJ (CE, EE) on solsparc, RedHat 7.2, win2000 again. I found this bug does not occur in the environment on win2000. Please see attached image file. I highlited ~/ffjuser40ee/sampledir/texteditor/Ted.java on explorer. "Start" action is enabled in toolbar. But it can not start a debugging by keyboard shortcuts "Alt + F5". Sorry for my confusion.

Is not this shortcut (Alt-F5) consumed by your window manager. For example, I have to switch off this shortcut in my window manager (KDE - Linux) to be able to use it for NetBeans.
probably user mistake
Resolved for 3.3.x or earlier, no new info since then -> closing.
