This bug was originally marked as duplicate of bug 244607, that is already resolved. This bug is still valid, so this seems to be another bug, but it might be related.

Build: NetBeans IDE 8.0.1 (Build 201408251540)
VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM, 24.55-b03, Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment, 1.7.0_55-b14
OS: Windows 7

dev build of yesterday aftert the  update of component c++ and aws(not sure) plugin

the ide restart and error at startup 

update to last dev build same error  (netbeans-trunk-nightly-201309040001-windows)

when i launch manually "Window-> Project" i get the same error

checked a few of the last reports and still the same as in issue #244607
