While working through the tutorial on "NetBeans Platform Quick Start Using Maven", I found the Branding dialog does not save changes to the project * https://platform.netbeans.org/tutorials/nbm-maven-quickstart.html See attachments -- Screenshots are in sequence: 1. Open branding dialog 2. Icon browse buttons are greyed-out, set a title. 3. Save changes and re-open changes have vanished ----------- Product Version = NetBeans IDE 8.0.1 (Build 201408251540) Operating System = Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64 Java; VM; Vendor = 1.8.0_11 Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.11-b03

Probably caused by missing maven bundles in your local maven repository. Please check that ~/.m2/repository/org/netbeans/modules/org-netbeans-core is really existing on your local disk. BTW, does it still happen?
tried to reproduce with 8.0.1 and a current dev build, but worked for me just fine the messages.log is huge and loaded with various exceptions but haven't seen any witch could be related to the problem feel free to reopen in case you are able to reproduce with an actual build
