Automatic projects is extremely useful and one of the things that makes working using Netbeans as a Java IDE for an ant-based projects the best choice. 
This kind of functionality should have moved into a standard Netbeans plugin which is included by default a long time ago.

Jesse, would you please be so kind and build the plugin for 7.4 and 8.0 versions and publish it on the Plugin Portal? Thanks a lot!
