I have just experimented with the "EJB3 Remote client example" Published on 12 May 2012 as YouTube video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qk4qYQG5tvM. 
At the end of the video we can see the warning "../NetBeansProjects/../dist/gfdeploy/.. does not exist" and the simple test run takes over 10 seconds.
I use NetBeans 8.2 deploying to local GlassFish 5.3 (nightly) based on JDK 8 on Debian 8 Linux.  I get the same warning.  Test run works, but it takes about 43 seconds.
