Description mariusz_m 2017-05-22 08:21:15 UTC
since I didn't found any option nor the plugin, I decided to describe my little need here.
When working on multiple documents, more and more tabs appear on the editor top bar and after some time it is hard to find the file I was working on. Looks like the guys designing VisualStudio had the same observation, and they made simple yet helpful improvement.
I'm talking about grouping the tabs depending the way file has been opened.
One group (usually small) is files opened from project tree (files I'm working on), the second group is the files opened by click-navigate, usually to find some method declaration etc, treated as read-only.

First group is usually small (2..6), second quickly appear to be more than 10 and I must frequently close them to not get lost in multi-row editor tabs.

Tabs I'm working on on the left, opened automatically by NB - on the right.

With the left/right tabs it would be much easier to do than with traditional top style tabs
