I need the additional information :
Attachment containing the NPE or user_dir/system/ide.log 
file.

hi, got the same problem.  i copied tomcat 4.0.1 that came 
with sun one studio 4 update 1 CE, and renamed the folder 
tomcat404.  i dont know what happend, but it worked.  

out of curiosity, i tried 4.0.4 on sun one studio, and i 
got the same nullpointer exception error.

I tried to reproduce the bug without any seccess.
As I asked for an attachement and I got no respond - I am 
changing the status to WORKSFORME.

As Milan says, having the ide.log file would be useful for 
the analysis of the bug. 

However, based on the limited information that this report 
has, this looks like a duplicate of 26570.
