Also, eventually I found I see the current project
dir in this list, but I can't actually open it -
the "Places" concept IMO needs to either be
defined better or (preferably) hidden from the user.

IMO this is non-issue now when we decided to have just one source root
- no additions/removals of source roots for the first version. Passing
to Chris for final verdict.

yeah, this isn't going to a problem anymore. see the updated spec's
for how it should work.
