In a usability study recently, we had a participant point out that the bright red "could not find this text" message in the status bar of the editor was distressing, because the red color implied that this was a serious problem, which is is not.
Changing subcomponent to "search"
Changing to DEFECT to gain more attention from HIE/UI experts. I think the same about the bright red color. I'm always a bit distressed from the message until I realize that's just info about not finding some text. It's just information that the text wasn't found, not any fatal problem, so the color might be less saturated or there might be different UI gesture to show the information, e.g. Exclamation mark and text.
Rudolfe, we will really need to find a good general way of how to inform users about action results in editor. As I said, I disagree with using red in this case. It has to be visible to users, that I agree with, but red is used in case of an error. This message is a warning IMO and it would be better to use a different colour here.
I'm going to attach screenshot comparing our heavyweight and Firefox's lightweight way of telling the same to user. Firefox in addition uses characteristic sound to indicate that Find action wasn't successful.

Adding Jano on CC. Jano, we need to find a good way how to let users know about an error. Currently this is handeled quite inconsistently in editor - sometimes with red color in status bar, sometimes with standard background. In some case beep is used in some cases it is not. In some cases a new dialog is shown. Any ideas how to make this consistent?
Any ideas?
Sorted out with the new search bar.
