Unless I'm very much mistaken the macros used in
the Java Template classes (__USER__, __PACKAGE__
etc) are not mentioned in the help system.  I
managed to find them on the web but they should be
more accessible.

They were in 3.6 under "Using Macros in Templates"

In NB 4 beta 2, there is a "Creating a Template"
page but this doesn't explain the macro/tags and
curiously links to the Refactoring page (in the
see also section).  Why I don't know.

We purposely slimmed down the help for 4.0 to make it less cluttered
for users and easier to maintain for us.

OTOH, this topic might be worth keeping. John, could you take a look?

This page was indeed cut due to lack of resources and the vast amount
of new functionality we had to cover for 4.0. We will cover it in 4.1.
