buttons on nb welcome screen of 4.1 opens old pages of 4.0 release this issue probably can be fixed at once but it could be fixed in parts, fix the links when new documents are in place (j2me Support Download page and Products information)
John and I talked about this a few days ago. John will fix before the EA branch.
fix - does it means these two thing ? 1, change pages content (on nb.org, in nb doc - like nb4.0/docs/quickstart-40.html) 2, change bundle.properties where are the link's strings
The greater problem here is that we shouldn't be using the 4.0 release welcome screen for the dev builds. We need a special Dev welcome screen. (We could reuse the "retro" welcome screen from EA1.) The docs linked from the welcome screen haven't been updated for 4.1 and probably won't be until very late in the release cycle (right now most of the 4.1 changes aren't even implemented), so there's no way to resolve this issue without disabling the links or removing the buttons altogether. OTOH, a dev welcome screen would be a good place to tell people about our schedule, planned features, and link to those docs that are relatively up-to-date (like the J2EE quick start guide).
Fixed for now, there are no wrong/dead links on the dev welcome screen and all the pages have disclaimers that the info may be out of date.
