Current UI is really unfriendly and should be improved. When attaching to a core file using SA connector the IDE should offer FileChooser to help user to navigate to a coredump file. Similarly there should be a browse button to help find where is the executable. These executable should already be preset to java executable of running IDE or from default platform. When attaching to a running process we can try to get list of running processes from output of jps [-l] command to make it easier.
What's so difficult with RFE? Is there anything controversial? Can't we implement at least part of it? The current UI is quite stupid and it is easy to fix it.
Nothing controversial, and probably easy to implement. But we have a lot of issues to solve... therefore we're conservative. "future" TM means that it can go into 4.2 after we have all more important issues scheduled for 4.2 resolved.
