The freeform project wizard consequently states that the most simple ant scripts
are 'not a valid ant script'. Command-line ant, using the binaries bundled with
NB, reports no problems whatsoever.

Problem was a missing XML declaration, sorry. Will file an enhancement request
for better feedback.
