I just downloaded and installed 4.1 RC2 and launched it for the first time and
the welcome screen looked all messed up.  I have seen this in previous versions,
but it usually doesn't happen in the release versions.  I don't know what
happened to the ability to attach an image, so see the URL

Which version of JDK are you using ?

too late to fix in 4.1

verified - it works fine in NB 5.0 - RC1
