Need to spell out complete app server name in the following places: 1. Add Server instance > Server Location page, bottom of page: change "Please enter a valid WebSphere 6.0 installation directory." to "Please enter a valid IBM WebSphere Application Server V6.0 installation directory." 2. In Runtime window, the node label: change from "WebSphere" to "IBM WebSphere Application Server V6.0" 3. In Runtime window, right-click WebSphere node > Properties: in title bar, and in help pane text, change "WebSphere" to "IBM WebSphere Application Server V6.0" 4. In Runtime window, right-click WebSphere node > Start/Stop server: in title bar, change "WebSphere" to "IBM WebSphere Application Server V6.0" 5. Create new web application, Name and Location page of wizard: the value in the Server drop-donw list for WebSphere should be = IBM WebSphere Application Server V6.0 There may be other instances, the ones above are the ones I found.
