Would you be so kind and provide us with more additional information how did you get this exception?
Do you have any (reproducible) scenario to get this exception again?
Only from message.log we can hardly track down where lies core of this problem.

The error occurs when I try to install module "Profiler" via the NetBeans IDE
200506211800 Update Center Wizard.

What profiler module did you try to install? We do not provide a profiler 
distibution via NBM files.

The DuplicateException does not seem to have anything in common with profiler.

Folks,

For what it's worth. I am running Dev version 200508301800. When I used the
updater and restart NB, the IDE would not start again. I when to c:\Document and
Settings\<username>\.netbeans\dev and rename modules to modules.old. Executed NB
and everything is back to normal.
