Description setdosa 2005-08-03 13:59:36 UTC
I am unable to stop the embedded tomcat through the server start/stop option
under the runtime tab. The status shows up as stopped even though I see the
server process running. Another thing that I noticed was that when I installed
it new on a system, it worked fine for the first time. I have tested it in 3
machines all with XP 2 of them professional and one home.

Have you tried to check with the browser whether the server is really running?

Have you installed all the hotfixes from the update center? There is one that
fixes issue similar to what you have described.

Increasing the priority to p3, marking as INCOMPLETE.
Comment 3 setdosa 2005-08-08 14:45:12 UTC
The web application does load up through the browser, moreover the log file of
tomcat shows that its unloading the application from its memory but after that
the process does not get killed.

I have all the hotfixes installed except the J2EE profiler which for some reason
says it cannot be installed as one of its dependencies is not satisfied.

Can you please verify whether this issue is valid in NB 5.0?
Comment 5 Sherold Dev 2005-12-09 16:10:00 UTC
Closing as WORKSFORME since there is no farther response from the user.
Comment 6 setdosa 2005-12-20 20:16:00 UTC
I downloaded the 5.0 Beta2 and the issue still exists. Thank you for being patient.

I also experience following issues with
NetBeans RC2.
stoping NON-EMBEDED tomcat5 instance that I configure into the IDE hangs for
a very long time:

Notice IDE stopping proccess hangs there at last line ...
and there is running proccess "stopping tomcat ..." (I wish there was a way to
force kill the proccess thread.. )
at some point after about average of 5 minutes it finaly receives release and
finishes a job .

Please do not paste logs like this into the description, it makes the issue hard
to read, use attachement instead.

Is there any difference when you try to stop the Tomcat from the command line?
Comment 9 levancho 2006-02-01 01:34:12 UTC
yes there is difference, tomcat at command line stops and exits as normal.
Comment 10 shryane 2006-03-03 12:19:04 UTC
I'm having the same issue - tomcat doesn't stop properly from within the IDE.
I'm using Netbeans 5.0 release, windows 2000, tomcat 5.0.27.

TM 5.0->TBD
Comment 12 Sherold Dev 2006-06-13 13:44:15 UTC
Closing as works for me, since we cannot reproduce it. It seems like the problem
might be in the local configuration.
