Description judytang 2005-08-16 01:00:08 UTC
I am using NetBeans 4.2 (8/11) build, and Appserver 8.1 PE UR2 build 10 for testing.

It seems the plugin only allow to add more DAS if the DASs are all under the
same directory, I found this is the case during my testing, I am thinking this
is a bug since we do allow the DASs in diffrent directory.

Should the Add Server Instance screen allow the user to select the domain
folder all the time ?

this is part of the server management redesign that needs to happen.

correction: registration (not management)

This might not be the case (even it is not intuitive).
If you enter in the first combo box the localhost:XXXX
where XXXX is the port number of the other DAS, then click on tab to focus on
next field, then the doomain location field is enable and you can navigate to
the domain dir...

Noe it would be better to have a check box for this scenario, and that the
triggering of the even would not be entering a port number, but just the new
domain location.
From this location, we can open domain.xml and propose in RO mode the port number.

Yes, Ludo, you are right, later on I did find out this trick to get the domain
location field enabled.

I feel we can improve the userbility on this screen by not disable any field.
So user will not running into the same thing like I did.

Is there some good reason that we need to disable some fields on this screen ?

Thanks Ludo for spending the time on issues even on the trip :-)
