Description erkkisuominen 2005-09-07 14:30:15 UTC
I've installed jdk1.5.0_04, WTK 2.2, and netbeans 4.1 as well as the mobility
pack. I am trying to build one of the mobile samples included in the package,
but I get the following error message....

C:...\nbproject\build-impl.xml:157: Could not create task or type of type: nb-
prep.
Ant could not find the task or a class this task relies upon.
This is common and has a number of causes; the usual
solutions are to read the manual pages then download and
install needed JAR files, or fix the build file:

This issue seems to belong to the preprosessing phase of a midlet application
build.

I am sorry but I could not reproduce the problem.
Could you please backup and delete your NetBeans userdir (on XP it is \Documents
and Settings\<your username>\.netbeans\4.1.

If this happens to the one project only you could try to backup and delete you
project\nbproject\build-impl.xml and restart the IDE.

If some of the mentioned hints helps, please attach the correspondind backed-up
files (zipped) to this issue.

If this does not help, please try to re-install NetBeans (this looks like wrong
path configured or moved userdir or somehow corrupted installation or project
files).

Thanks for your help to find the root cause,
Adam

Based on your private mail I am closing this issue as WORKSFORME.

I understand the root cause were broken paths in build.properties after a
non-standard NetBeans installation.
