Description vbrabant 2005-10-15 16:13:03 UTC
[ BUILD # : 200510131922 ]
[ JDK VERSION : 1.5.0_05 ]

Would be nice if Tomcat Source Code was available through Update Center.

Then, all Tomcat Source code would be available for J2EE developpers who are curious of the reference implementation .

I am sorry, we do not plan to do this -> WONTFIX.

However, you can always download Tomcat sources from the Apache site by yourself.
Comment 2 vbrabant 2005-10-17 18:33:57 UTC
That's what I did. I download sources of Tomcat 5.5.9, and unzip it.
Then I add to "mount" a lot of directories into the Source tab of the server.
And it took me 20 minutes to do that.

If sources were available through a plug-in, would be simpler to just install it.
It would take 5 seconds.

Also, if at least Javadoc of the J2EE API were available via Update Center, like
the Javadoc of Ant is available, would also be nice for me.

Thanks a lot.

J2EE API javadoc already comes w/ netbeans

It is a bug that it does not work for Tomcat, I filed it as issue 67035.
