It makes sens that your project should be compiled debug when you actually
try to debug it, but it is not a reason for midp_g to crash when there is no
debug info. Maybe debugging option should not be available in this case...

Could you please be more descriptive? I'm not sure that I understand it. 

You can set DebugLevel ability in Project Properties in "Build | Compiling"
category. This issue is about something else, right?
