This Bugzilla instance is a read-only archive of historic NetBeans bug reports. To report a bug in NetBeans please follow the project's instructions for reporting issues.
In earlier releases the process for the integrated Tomcat server was (when running) also listed in the "Processes" node of the Runtime tab. With 5.0 this is no longer the case. The problem is, that when a shutdown of the server does not work properly (e.g. a bug in my web application) then there is no way to kill this process from within NB.
Currently there are no plans to fix this, closing as WONTFIX. There is a Terminate action for your use case on the Tomcat instance node in the Runtime window on non-Windows systems. The reason why this action is not available when running on Windows is that killing the Tomcat process does not work due to a JDK issue and thus even if the Tomcat process was listed in the "Processes" node killing it would not work.
Not sure I understand what this last comment meant. You can "terminate" the process in windows by going to the task manager and killing the "java.exe" process. It seems like the "terminate" option in the context list could do the same thing. Is there any way this can be re-addressed?
