I often find the CVS diff functionality very hard to read because even on my
large-display laptop (1440x1050), with the screen split vertically for old vs.
new code, most lines of code do not fit into either half. And using the
horizontal scrollbar is unwieldy.

Would much prefer the old vs. new panes to be arranged vertically, i.e.
horizontal splitter. Might not see as many lines of context, but at least I
could see what was in those lines!
