I have downloaded netbeans 5.0 and it detected my jdk 1.5.0_06 on installation.
When I try to start Tomcat I get a pop-up with the message 'Starting of tomcat 
failed'. 
When I look at the log files there are no error messages to indicate what the 
problem is. I have tried uninstalling, deleting the .netbeans/5.0 and re-
installing but with no luck.
Any help would be appreciated

Issue was due to a firewall problem. I had been changing my firewall software 
and had blocked a program in Microsoft Anti Spyware. I unblocked the program 
and everything now works.
