Description DanB 2000-08-18 18:13:26 UTC
When trying to print my class file from the editor in Forte (File | Print)
there are a couple of quirks:

1) When the first printer dialog box is diaplyed, if the "Cancel" button is
clicked, the second printer dialog box is still displayed.

2) In the second printer dialog box, it shows that I can select pages 1 to
9999 in the current document, even though the document (my class file) is less
than 90 lines.

3) When printing my class file, it creates a print job that is appx 1.45MB
big. This job never completes (I cancel the print job in Win98 after 5
minutes). When the page spits out, it prints some of the top portion of the
class file.

ad 1) It doesn't happen to me. However I guess it can happen because of the
different printer setups.
ad 3) The print job is generated by the java printing API in the JDK that we
use. We are not able to shrink the size from NetBeans.

Alesi, can you explain better some of the complaints below?
Comment 3 anovak 2000-08-22 12:39:59 UTC
ad 1) In former releases of NetBeans, we had two dialogs. The first one was
"Page Setup". So if you cancel the setup it soes not mean that you want to
cancel whole print job. However, the dialog was obsoleted because of bugs in jdk
1.2.x - which we must comply with.

ad 2) The second dialog is a native windows dialog, and we do not have any
control what it displays. Again, things are even worse thanks to bugs. On the
other hand, it allows you to specify both side printing, quality of printing,
