Description:
Netbeans 5.5 Preview (build 2006.02.13)

Steps to reproduce:

- Create a UML project 
- Add a Class diagram into the UML Project Model 
- Select the class diagram on the model, right-click
   and select 'Add|Element' 
- Select a Class element on a 'New Wizard', name
  it and press 'OK' button.

  The class element is not added into the diagram.

When  a model element is created via the context menu 'Add->Elelement' of
project Model node, the element appears only on the project tree but not shown
on the diagram editor.  You need to drag and drop the element to the diagram. 
This is by design and not a bug.
