Description ulfzibis 2006-07-22 12:00:51 UTC
Please allow to hide the textual indication of file's SubVersion state
([Modified],[New],...), to save space in editor's tabs.
Couloring can be enough on small notebook's screen.
Comment 1 Tomas Stupka 2006-10-05 15:53:56 UTC
see view/show subversion status labels
Comment 2 ulfzibis 2007-11-06 18:14:02 UTC
This doesn't help really.

I like to hide the textual indication of file's SubVersion state in the _editor's_tabs_, but not in the Project browser.

Comment 3 Tomas Stupka 2007-11-06 18:52:24 UTC
i'm afraid we don't have an api for this

Maros Sandor: any ideas?
Comment 4 Peter Pis 2007-11-06 20:58:41 UTC
IMHO, it's designed well to cater for the needs of all. ;-) If user wants to see textual annotations then all that has
to be done is to switch "View | Show Versioning Status Labels" on or else annotations are hidden. So I find it fine, if
this option is checked makes annotations visible everywhere. Just my opinion.

For me it's enough to see them once in the browser, as in the editor's tabs they waste space, and are often hidden if
there are some more files open. Perhaps it would be nice to add them to the tab's tool tip.
It's also nice, to see them in the editor's drop down list.

Is it possible to have both?
- Show Versioning Labels in Tabs
- Show Versioning Labels in Browser

BTW, it would save more space in the tabs, if the file extensions would be hidden too. We have the icons to recognize
the type of a document.

BTW is there any help, how to customize the Versioning Status Labels? See: Issue 108957

Comment 6 Tomas Stupka 2007-11-06 22:19:54 UTC
reassigning to versioncontrol as this is should be decided general for all VCS modules.

see issue #108957

We would need some support from openide and/or editor. I think we actually have some issue open on this, I'll make this
a dup once I find it.
Comment 8 ulfzibis 2008-08-02 10:01:14 UTC
Just wanted to draw some attention to this issue for 6.5.

Thanks, Ulf

Do you mean this one, msandor:

*** Issue 66852 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
Comment 11 Maros Sandor 2008-08-06 10:09:02 UTC
Yes, it is the same. However, there might be some issue open in openide regarding API support for this.
