I downloaded 5.5 Beta 2, and the installer for the Profiler from the same page.
When I installed the profiler (after installing the Enterprise expansion and CND
expansion) and restarted the IDE a dialog appeared (which I failed to capture
due to the time of the morning), which said because I didn't have the module
developer plugin (i think), I could not install it.

However, the Beta 2 update centre does not have this avaliable for installation.

Any ideas? I checked the install.log for the profiler and there was nothing
amiss there.

Profiler does not use any special module than those in standart distribution of
netbeans.
I don't know what do Enterprise and CND expansions do but if you install NB and
than profiler into the nb home folder it should work.
Try to install profiler at first and than other expansions.
