Description bugbridge 2006-09-28 14:19:05 UTC
Original submitter: petersl

Description:
This is a regression from Coco build 14.
Using build 14a and use Ctrl+Alt+A and Ctrl+Alt+O to add attribute/operation to
class or interface elements, there's no user feedback. Typing is not being
displayed until Enter key was pressed to show the result. This problem does not
exist if using mouse to select Insert Attribute/Operation.

Repro steps:
- create a class diagram
- create a class or interface element
- name the element
- press Ctrl+Alt+A and Ctrl+Alt+O to insert an attribute or an operation

reproducible with coke 060927

This does not seem to be happening in NetBeans 5.0. This must be a NetBeans 5.5
issue.
Comment 2 Peter Lam 2006-11-08 20:43:25 UTC
it's not happening in the latest coco build that uses nb 5.0. It happens in
griffin (using nb5.5) on both jdk 1.5 & 1.6.
Comment 3 Thuy.d Nguyen 2006-11-16 17:31:33 UTC
The right keystrokes for adding an attribute and operation is Alt-shift-A and
Alt-shift-O respectively. These keys are documented on online help as such.
Closing the bug as Invalid.

I think "Ctrl" was written by mistake, this bug may be still valid, I'll verify
tomorrow
Comment 5 Peter Lam 2006-11-16 21:39:24 UTC
Good catch, Sergey! What's in the description for the key combinations should be
Shift+Alt+A or Alt+Shift+A & Alt+Shift+O instead of "Ctrl". The issue here is
not the key combinations or shortcut keys. It's the edit mode that is not there
when one uses keyboard shortcut to add attribute or operation. I believe the
issue is in NB5.5 as Trey indicated since it happens in both jdk 1.5 and 1.6 in
griffin builds, but the issue does not exist in coco builds that use NB5.0.
Therefore, this is still an issue in griffin. I'll re-open this for griffin and
waive this one for coco since it doesn't exist in coco.

Just tried with griffin build on NB 5.5 FCS (Build 200610171010) and jdk 1.6 FCS
but can't not reproduce the problem. I'm closing the issue as worksforme,
please reopen if it still exists on your environment
