The dragging behaviour of groups of objects does not seem to comply with normal Windows practice. For example, if I want to drag a group of lifelines to the left, only one of the highlighted group actually moves. The remaining members of the group must be dragged individually, even although they all remain highlighted until I click some other location on the diagram.
Which build are you using? JDK version? I can't reproduce it with simple cases on the latest daily build. I tried this on all 8 types of diagrams, selected a few elements and dragged them, all the selected elements moved together. CTRL+Arrow keys also worked fine. Does holding SHIFT or CTRL while dragging make any difference for you? However, I did notice that in some cases, the gesture to move the group ( a click on one element) would deselect the rest of the elements which essentially cancels the group moving. In that case, I had to use either SHIFT or CTRL to help moving the entire group. However, as long as they all stay highlighted, they are moved together. You must have a special case, any particular relationships, messages between those lifelines? Can you provide a testcase for us to try out?
I think I've broken the cardinal rule of issue reporting: "Make sure it's repeatable". At the time of your comment, I could not repeat the issue. I delayed replying in case I could repeat after several shutdowns. Using CTRL causes the group to be dragged as a single unit, as you suggested. Maybe you should close this issue. I apologize for wasting your time.
