1. Start IDE. Add GlassFish. 2. Start IDE. 3. Restart IDE. Result: GlassFish is restarted, but IDE can not detect it. Error message appear. After Refresh everything is fine. Works for simple and for debug mode as well.
I don't have Vista, so I need to ask for more details from you. 1. is step two supposed to be "Start GlassFish"? 2. What error messages appear? 3. What did you "refresh"... was it the domain node?
It was misprint. Actual steps are: 1. Start IDE. Add GlassFish. 2. Start GlassFish. 3. Restart GlassFish. So, answers on your questions are: 1. Yes. Now it is the step 2. :) 2. "The Sun Java System Application Server could not start. More information about the cause is in the Server log file. Possible reasons include: ... (list of possible reasons)". 3. I refreshed server node. Rightclick on server node and select Refresh.
Opps... I did not pay attention to this when I first read your report.... Are you using NB 5.5 or NB 5.5.1? Please see: http://blogs.sun.com/vkraemer/entry/all_good_things_come_to Reopen this issue if you are using 5.5.1 and see this issue...
I used NetBeans 5.5. But I was able to start GlassFish in simple and in debug mode. This issue occur only be restart. By start everything was fine.
