Alt-i currently invoke Prof_i_ler menu instead of Vers_i_oning menu. It is very visible and quite disturbing. Consider rather Alt-p, Alt-o or Alt-l.
Regression to what version?? Why do you think this is Profiler problem?? Profiler mnemonic has always been _i_ (since introduced in 5.0), Vers_i_oning is new in 6.0.
Alt-i is have been used - for relatively long time; to invoke Vers_i_oning in the *default* build of NetBeans from repository (without any addons). So everybody who did not explicitly install profiler add-on in the past was used to use Alt-i to invoke Versioning menu. Now when I build default NB build, Alt-i invokes Prof_i_ler menu. This breaks the way I was used to work for long time and quite visibly for keyboard users. Clearly the problem is that the profiler is fresh module in the *standard* NB build. So I chose profiler to file a bug to. If you feel that rather Versioning should change their shortcut... reassign to them. Also I've added Jano who will have probably stronger opinion. I think that default NetBeans installation should not have conflicting mnemonics in the top-level main menu.
Hi, thanks for great information! We developed the Versioning UI spec if the Profiler was not default part of NB IDE. I suggest use Alt + P for Profiler because Profiler word starts P and we don't have Alt +P used now. For Versioning we can not use Alt + V because this mnemonic uses View ITEM. So please use Alt + I for Versioning. Josef Pavlicek
Fixed for M9.
