Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 101961
maximizing writer window repositions at cursor
Last modified: 2009-07-16 23:26:19 UTC
Take the attached document, it contains two pages. Put the cursor on the first line of the first page. Then scroll the document so that the second page is displayed in the Writer's window. Then minimize the window, and subsequently maximize it. You will see that the document has been scrolled so as to display the page in which the cursor lies. The same happens if, instead of minimizing/maximizing you display a window of another application that covers entirely the Writer's one. This is odd because displaying windows should have no consequences with what contents is in them.

Cannot confirm on WinXP, will try on Vista later.
I reproduce this behaviour only when I open a second doc in OOo and maximise this second window. When I return to the first doc, the focus jumps to the cursor position. No problem if the covering window belongs to another application (nautilus or Firefox in my tests). No problem if I minimize then maximise the window. OOo 3.1 FR/US on Ubuntu 8.04
I agree, the problem occurs only when there is also a second OOo doc opened. Effectively, I had a text document and a presentation one opened, and was cutting and pasting text from the first into the second to make a presentation.
