Description wijit 2009-05-23 17:59:39 UTC
My system:
Platform: ECS Green 733 Notebook
OS: Ubuntu 9.04
OOo Version: 3.0.1 OOO300m15 (Build 9379)

If ypu open a text document or a spread sheet that contains a formatted line and
if you point a mouse and click on the line then a document formatting bar
changes to a graphic formatting bar. You should notice that while most details
of the line are described correctly, the line style box does not. It shows
'Invisible' no matter how the line has been formatted. When you click the combo
box or select box or whatever you want to call it you will see that the
"Invisible' line is highlighted. Unlike the dialog 'Line' which you can call up
by 'Format/Object/Line' in Writer or by 'Format/Graphic/Line' in Calc, all the
details are correctly shown. I did not try other type of graphics. This may be a
very little bug but because it is on the application facad, fix it up is a must
(I think). However, I still love to officially use it. Actually I started using
OOo since v 2.3. God bless you all.

The graphic formatting bar behaves slightly different. It shows a continueous
(solid) line instead.

Please attach a sample document and describe step by step what you do with it.

MRU->PL: the described effect can be seen in different places in OOo on ubuntu.
The drawing toolbar is one good sample. When having selected a drawing object
and the mouse points on a control in the drawing formatting toolbar, the content
of the control will be invisible.
Can also be seen in the Options dialog in section "General" or "View" e.g.

1. Open Writer and you will have an Untitled (n) document open for editing.
2. Make sure the drawing tools bar is activated then click the Line tool.
3. Draw a line on the Untitled (n) document and if you use OOo v 3.2.0 like I do you will see a continuous line style shown correctly in the Line Style (the 3rd item from left) box.
4. Click to expand items of the Line Style box and select any style and you will see the style of the line you drew changed to your selection, the expanded menu disappeared and the selected style shown correctly in the Line Style box.
5. Now assume you finished drawing the line and want to something else by just pressing the ESC button or any other thing that changes the pointer from line drawing sign to text insertion sign.
6. Now assume you want to do something with the line so you point your pointer on the line and click to select it.
7. Now look at the Line Style box again and you will see the word "Invisible" instead of the line style you selected.
More over, I configured measurement unit to Centimeter. Most of the UI change accordingly but the Line Width box.
