Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 102190
Links among localized wiki pages about template site
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:43:21 UTC
Could you add links among localized wiki pages about template site? Now we have many translated pages of the following page. http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Templates/website/guide But they are not accessiable because the links among those pages don't exist. I think OOoWiki template will greatly help you, or editing language box can be another solution. I can help you add all languages to the language box. Regards,
Ah, ok, I saw your edit on the page, and I have to say that I did not know this feature of wiki ;-) These page get's linked to from the template site for each language; So they usually are not accessed from wiki, they are linked to from external site; But I like the idea and will respect it on future translations of that page. You may go ahead and insert these links; A list of these pages is available at: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Templates/website/translation#Instructions.2FHelp
Thank you for your kind reply. Done, but it still has a problem that some languages are not shown correctly. ->ccornell: Could you take care of this issue or assign it to another appropriate person? We would like links to all translated pages in the following template. But some languages commented out were displayed in the wrong way when I removed the comment marks. They were in the body (with dead links) instead of the left box named "in other languages". http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Template:Templates/website/guide
The reason those links do not work is that they are not active in the InterWiki languages table. See: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Special:Interwiki I will add them... The zh-hans and zh-hant ones though... they are probably going to be a problem. See: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Interwiki_linking#Interlanguage_links Specifically, the Wiki backend appears to group zh-hans and zh-hant as one language type. Since I don't speak or read Chinese, I cannot guess at the differences. I will have to look into this... any suggestions are welcome.
Missing languages have been added to the InterWiki table zh-hans maps to just zh zh-hant maps to zh-classical (according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wikipedias which is the main guideline for what languages are supported in MediaWiki)
I confirmed all languages are added correctly. ->ccornell: Now I understand the reason why they couldn't be shown in the right way. Thank you for your kind help! ->tbo: I need to report to you. Thanks to ccornell's help, it works now. I also wrote an instruction to add a new language to this template page. Please look over this page; http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Templates/website/translation
