Missing curly braces in Help about Math Examples
Last modified: 2003-05-05 15:44:05 UTC
Displayed syntax for several math examples is incorrect - apparently due to missing curly braces. For example, the third example of Symbols with indices says to use syntax "%PHI^i_1 i_2 dotsaxis i_n_k_1 k_2 dotsaxis k_n". This doesn't work, but "%PHI^{i_1 i_2 dotsaxis i_n}_{k_1 k_2 dotsaxis k_n}" does. Similarly, the Matrix example says to use syntax "font sans bold size *1,5 A =left[matrixA_11#A_12#dotsaxis#A_1n##A_21# ##A_2n##dotsvert###dotsvert##A_n1#A_n2#dotsaxis#A_nnright]" This doesn't work, but "font sans bold size*1.5 A =left[ matrix{A_11#A_12#dotsaxis#A_1n ##A_21#{}# {}#A_2n##dotsvert#{}#{}#dotsvert##A_n1#A_n2#dotsaxis#A_nn }right]" does. (in this last example, I had to replace "1,5" by "1.5" as well.) (NOTE:this is the first time I've submitted an issue -- I couldn't find a subcomponent for "Help" documentation -- Sorry if this is sent to the wrong place.)
FPE->UFI: Pls check
changed the files smath/01/03090903 and smath/01/03090905. The curly brackets inadvertantly were filtered out in one of the conversion processes. The 1,5 was replaced by 2, which should be save for all locales. Thank you for your help and keep on the good work!

Verified with 644m13 and help package of cws:help02 = ok
verified in SO 6.1 Beta2: all curly brackets are there now.
