Description grakic 2009-09-04 13:55:42 UTC
Serbian OpenOffice.org community is not able to test 3.1.1 sr and sh localized
builds, only Windows releases is tested for "Release sanity test" scenario and
approved for the release in QAtrack.

In spite of that we are offering localized builds for download from
http://sr.openoffice.org/preuzmi.html to allow users to use localized builds and
with the hope to attract new community members.

If possible, page http://download.openoffice.org/other.html should be updated to
reflect this. I will attach the patch for the page.

I don't understand how you can release localized builds when you cannot test
them. Please can you explain this?

Furthermore, the other.html does not point to websites from the native lang
teams as this is already done for "download.openoffice.org". The other.html is
an alternative way to find the builds.
Comment 3 Marcus 2009-09-04 14:31:12 UTC
In QATrack I can see approvals also for Linux builds, not only for Windows.
Comment 4 grakic 2009-09-04 14:38:44 UTC
Hi mla,

Localized 3.1.0 release was fully tested (automation testing and TCM release
scenario) and I do not except problems with 3.1.1. If any problem stand out it
is easy to pull off a single platform release (but based on the comments on the
web there are no such problems for debs and mac, still waiting for the feedback
on rpms and Solaris builds).

There is a visible link from main page to other.html and many users go straight
there, asking why there is no Serbian release yet
(http://www.elitesecurity.org/t373966-0#2376452). In the past other.html page
had links to preuzmi.html on Serbian native-lang site and it is easy to download
full installers and language packs from that page.
Comment 5 grakic 2009-09-04 14:40:53 UTC
Ah sorry, yes, the 32bit deb releases are also approved in the QAtrack.
Comment 6 Marcus 2009-09-04 15:15:22 UTC
@goranrakic: thanks, then I'll put the approved builds to the
".../localized/<sh|sr>/3.1.1" location on the mirrors. OK?

After distribution and with working Bouncer links the main download page and
other.html will provide the builds. But this will take at least until
Monday/Tuesday.

AFAIK the other.html has never contained any other links than to Bouncer.
Comment 7 grakic 2009-09-04 15:27:11 UTC
Ok, thanks.

Please also look at revision 1.42 of other.html
(http://download.openoffice.org/source/browse/download/www/other.html?rev=1.42)
it contains links to http://sr.openoffice.org/preuzmi.html

It is also written on the current revision of a page "Some of the links may
refer to the native language download pages." so I believe that such linking is
allowed.

Is it possible to have 32bit debs and windows builds uploaded on the mirror
network and link to native-lang page for the other platforms?
Comment 8 Marcus 2009-09-04 16:51:54 UTC
I've hardlinked the following builds to localized:

- OOo_3.1.1rc2_20090820_LinuxIntel_install_sh_deb.tar.gz
- OOo_3.1.1rc2_20090820_LinuxIntel_install_sr_deb.tar.gz
- OOo_3.1.1rc2_20090820_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_sh.exe
- OOo_3.1.1rc2_20090820_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_sr.exe

now waiting to show up on mirrors
Comment 9 Marcus 2009-09-04 16:57:29 UTC
other.html:

Seems OK to point also here to other websites. What about the differentiation
between sh and sr. In you patch there is "http://sr.openoffice.org/preuzmi.html"
used for both, is "http://sr.openoffice.org/lat/preuzmi.html" no longer used?
Comment 10 grakic 2009-09-04 17:10:00 UTC
In the patch http://sr.openoffice.org/lat/preuzmi.html is used for Serbian Latin.

Please also note native language name fixes ("ÑрпÑки ћирилицом" for Serbian
Cyrillic and "srpski latinicom" for Latin).
Comment 11 Marcus 2009-09-04 17:28:00 UTC
thanks for the strings :-) I've changed it, the links will follow when the
builds are on the mirrors
Comment 12 Marcus 2009-09-07 08:57:07 UTC
I've changed the links in other.html
Comment 13 grakic 2009-09-07 09:52:28 UTC
Thanks. I think that "3.1.0" in the latest release column should be updated to
"3.1.1".

Also, bouncer links can be used for Windows and Linux 32bit debs builds and
others can lead to preuzmi.html, but that is not very important. If you would
like I can send you the patch with the fixes to apply.
Comment 14 Marcus 2009-09-07 10:23:44 UTC
done, I've also entered the builds into Bouncer
