Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 10510
Branding Issue: HELP should not refer to AdabasD
Last modified: 2005-04-28 10:25:32 UTC
The HELP section on database formats describes connections to the AdabasD system that was included in Star Office 5.2. To make things slightly more confusing, the text has been passed through a brute force conversion so that the page makes the untrue statement that HELP -> Index, Find "databases / formats" <quote> Adabas D format In Windows and Unix the <a>Adabas D format</a> can be used. dBase or Text format </quote> Select the Adabas D anchor and read <quote> Adabas D, Version 11, is a database that is available in OpenOffice.org under Windows, Linux and Solaris Sparc. A slightly restricted version is supplied with OpenOffice.org. You can obtain further information on Adabas, additional help files and ordering options for higher versions from the manufacturer at http://www.adabas.com. </quote>
This is partly due to the current help creation process and will only change for the 2.0 release.
For Ooo_1.1Beta2 following the same steps that you have given, this is what I came up with: The Adabas D Version 11 database that is provided with OpenOffice.org is a limited version of the database. For more information on Adabas, visit the Software AG Web site at http://www.softwareag.com/adabas/. Is this what you are seeing?
FPE: I don't get your comment.
FPE: Switched all occurrences of Adabas to not appear in OOo Help
.
UFI: QA, pls verify in CWS helpcontentbeta and close
set to status 'fixed'
not fixed, still some points where Adabas is mention. If you search for Adabas you still found some sentence
reassign back to UFI
FPE->UFI: These are all in the files you created after I switched Adabas. You will need to add corresponding switches.
changed text\shared\explorer\database\dabapropadd.xhp, text\shared\explorer\database\dabapropgen.xhp, text\shared\explorer\database\dabawiz00.xhp, text\shared\explorer\database\dabawiz01.xhp, text\shared\explorer\database\dabawiz02adabas.xhp Help about Adabas is not wrong however. You can connect with OpenOffice.org to an existing Adabas server and maintain that database. You can not create a new database with OO.o, but nothing wrong with Adabas mentioned there. At least Oracle is mentioned there, too.
FPE: Pls verify in hc680postbeta
