Description esperantisto 2009-10-06 09:33:27 UTC
Working with OOo Writer pre-3.2 (DEV300_m60) on Windows XP SP2 Russian, I have
discovered and steadily reproduce the following problem.

I transferred my user settings from OOo 3.1, including autocorrect lists that
are currently in my c:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application
Data\OOo-dev\3\user\autocorr\ directory, as they should be. When I want to add
an entry to the list, I proceed as follows (worked with previous versions):
1. Select a text that I want to make a replacement option.
2. Enter Format → Autocorrect → Autocorrect Options.
3. In the Replace tab of the dialog, I see my text in the With: field, choose
the language from the drop-down list (for example, Russian), type in a shortcut
into the Replace field, tick Text only, click on New.
4. I see the entry added to the list.
5. I close the dialog and continue editing. The new autocorrect shortcut and the
previous ones work fine with the current document.
6. But after I close the document, all entries are lost and the respective file
(say, acor_ru-RU.dat) becomes zero-size. Any other autocorrect lists available
remain, unless I try to modify them.
7. Whenever I restore a .dat file from my OOo 3.1 profile or try to create a new
list from scratch, it all happens again: any previous and/or newly added entries
are retained for the current editing session only and are erased after closing
the document.

I have admin permissions on the computer, so there is no problem with read/write
access to the files.

I can reproduce that issue with DEV300_60 and OOO320_m2 (WinXP).

All tested user-enhanced and newly-created acor_xx-YY.dat became stone-empty
(0 KB in ...\user\autocorr\... directory).

That's a severe data loss ...

Working on 320_m3, french :
The Tools>Autocorrect window appears with a blank list.
Though, words are correctly replaced...
Seems to be just a displaying problem.

Indeed there is a problem. My AutoCorrect file has been erased in my m3 profile
(~/.ooo-dev under Ubuntu) but after having restored it from OOo 3.1.1 profile
(~/.openoffice.org) it is conserved by OOO320_m4 and works as expected.
BUT, the defect is here :
- add a new autocorrection => it works
- reopen autocorrection dialog => the list is empty and previously added
autocorr does not work anymore. The file acor_fr-FR.dat is 0 size.

Changed version to OOO320m4 and OS to all.

data_loss keyword added
Comment 7 stefan.baltzer 2009-11-09 09:16:15 UTC
Same description as in issue 106158 "Generating new AutoCorrect entry removes
all entries" - that one was closed as a duplicate of issue 105760. So I set this
one duplicate, too. Adding keyword "regression" just for the record.

*** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 105760 ***

Closed. Issue 105760 is fixed in CWS fwk125 with target OOo 3.2.
I will assure that the AutoCorrect scenario will be tested as well in that CWS. :-)

Sorry, I didn't search duplicate in framework component, only in word processor.

Regards.
