I have tried viewing slide show but I get vertcal coloured lines instead of
pictures even though the pictures are good and visible on the "edit" mode.

I tried to update the software but an error states that updating failed.

What should I do?

(PS How can I submit posts to the forum? There is no "reply" or "ask" button)

There was more than one issue here. If the OP still has trouble with slides then please resubmit as a bug against that part of the code.
